Our coating machines are essential in modern manufacturing, offering an eco-friendly, safe, and cost-efficient method for applying high-quality coatings. These machines often use water-based coatings, which rely on water as the main solvent, minimizing the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and enhancing environmental sustainability. As industries increasingly focus on sustainability and meeting regulatory standards, the use of water-based coating technologies is anticipated to expand, supported by improvements in machine design and advancements in coating formulations.

Process of Coating

1. Paper Roll
Large rolls of base paper are unwound and fed into the PE coating machine. The paper is precisely aligned and controlled through a system of rollers to ensure smooth and even feeding into the machine.

2. Corona Treatment (Pre-Coating)
Before the PE coating, the paper surface undergoes corona treatment to increase its surface energy. High-voltage discharge (typically between 10-30 kV) is used to treat the paper, creating a high-oxygen surface that improves the paper's adhesion properties and allows better bonding with the PE resin.

3. Polyethylene Resin Preparation
After printing, the paper rolls are sent to the cutting machine, where they are precisely cut into flat, fan-shaped pieces known as blanks. These blanks will form the body of the paper cup. Accurate cutting is critical to ensure that the pieces fit together perfectly during the forming stage, avoiding any gaps or misalignment.

4. Paper Fan
Polyethylene pellets are melted or dissolved in a heated tank or extruder to form a smooth, molten PE solution. Additives like stabilizers or wax may be mixed into the PE to enhance adhesion, surface smoothness, or specific functionality.

5. Coating Application (Extrusion)
The melted PE resin is extruded onto the paper surface through a die nozzle or extruder, ensuring an even and uniform layer.

6. Cooling and Solidification
The coated paper passes through a cooling system—typically using chilled rollers to rapidly cool the molten PE coating. This solidifies the PE layer, ensuring it adheres strongly to the paper surface, creating a waterproof, durable coating.
